This program is deed for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers ages 0 to 4 to explore early literacy activities and get ready to read! Events for kids are also available on the online events calendar.

We suggest reading for 20 minutes a day, but choose whatever goal works best for your schedule. School-age children ages 4 to 12 who participate in the Summer Reading Challenge can earn up to seven animal patches — one from each continent. Virtual and In-Person Programs We are planning both virtual programs and in-person outdoor programs for all ages this summer as part of the Summer Reading Challenge.

If you reach the end of the challenge and collect all of the patches, you earn your prize book! The Summer Reading Challenge is free and open to readers of all ages, from babies to adults. Adults can complete the challenge by reading books or ebooks, or listening to audiobooks.

Visit the Beanstack website. This program is deed for teens age 11 to 18 to encourage life-long reading habits.

Adults can also request a printed reading log at any Fargo Public Library locations starting June 7, if they prefer to keep track of their reading that way. Everyone is encouraged to read, discover, and learn this summer with our Tails and Tales reading program. Days do not need to be consecutive to count towards the stickers and prizes.

Young children ages birth to 4 who participate in the Summer Reading Challenge can earn up to seven animal stickers as well as finger puppets, animal masks, and more! We encourage you to us for storytimes, book clubs, art workshops, performances, take-and-make crafts, and other engaging in-person sessions and virtual events.

The coupons expire on December 31, Grand prize drawings prizes to be determined will be at the end of the Summer Reading Challenge. The program runs June 7 — August Once a teen has earned enough points they will receive a free book to be picked up from one of our three FPL locations!
